Art on Caturday with Marv

It is Friday night…Mommy got home about 1/2 an hour ago and I am staring at her. You know why?

She has not helped me blog since Wordless Wednesday! I think this is unacceptable. I figure if I pose, purrfectly and I stare at her, purrhaps she will get the hint and help me get some Caturday art ready.

Mommy relented and took a picture. I asked her why we have not been blogging. She gave me some lame excuse about documenting the submarine simulator, but I do not think that is acceptable. I am going to see if I can get her to help me next week.

In the picture below – we have used Photoshop. We like some of the filters that are online but tonight we are going old school. We bumped up the contrast and then we added watercolour paper.

After that we applied poster edges and then we used the cutout filter (only 5 levels).

We thought it was a little too brown, so we added some colour with the paint bucket.

I LOVE it!

  1. Marv I guess the STARING worked huh? I quite like all the fun filtering/artistic stuff you and Mom did to your “STARING” photo…..I don’t often stare at my Mom but winking gets me what I want!

    Love, Teddy

Well, that is a mighty fine pawtrait, I must say… though I don’t mind the pre-colour version, which looks rather like a tapestry. Oh and Marv, don’t be tooooo hard on the one with the thumbs, okay? Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. My goodness you are one handsome man cat!
And you photograph so well. Your furs are spectacular. Are they getting thicker and shinier? We think so.

  4. That is unacceptable, helping a kitty blog should be #1 . I do love your art though so I guess you can forgive her. XO

  5. Yep, you are pretty marvelous! The blue sets off your fur wonderfully! Quite the combination of creative effects that work very effectively! Tee hee hee! Mew Mew!

PS I love your Marv ornaments in your header image!

  6. Marv, we can understand why you love this…it is really gorgeous and striking, but it is hard to enhance purrfection, which you and the original photo both are! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
