Nellie’s Spark

Mes taked a vacation last week with Gaston. Mes wanted to goes and sees the sun  in Alaska! Every point north of the Arctic Circle sees at least twenty-four hours of continuous sunlight. In Deadhorse, Alaska, the sun rose on May 15th and will not sets again until July 28th. Mes always wanted to see that!

Which leads to my Spark this week.

McGuffy’s who was hosting the Sparks is on hiatus,  mes is going to keeps posting them anyway!  She says “I truly do believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. There is hope. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

    1. Mes a imaginary angel and mes can dos things now that mes did not gets a chance to dos before. Mommy meeted with a furry old furrend and was reminded of the summer she spent close to the Arctic Circle. One thing that indelibly etched on her memory is watching the sunrise/sunset as the sun just dipped below the horizon for less than 15 minutes. She wants to goes back and sees it again! So this Spark is a kick in Mom’s butt!

  3. Wow that sun event would be rather spectacular…..no night for so long and only the sun. Know what else? That picture of you in the hot air balloon reminds me of the photos I’ve seen of Angel Sammy on his last day visiting all his friends in his balloon…..I send BOTH of you big Teddy Hugs!

    1. Mommy says that it is hard to sleeps. And that when she was close to the arctic circle one summer, it was a good thing she was young (and a party animal…Mes can;t believes she was though)

  7. I can’t imagine being in 24 hours of light for that long. Oh and then there is the dark for 24 hours in the winter. I wouldn’t care for that either.

    1. Mommy says that she was glad she did not has to spend a winter up north…but then there could be something good about being dark all the time too! Who knows until they has tried it!

  10. Nellie what a wise quote. We had not heard it put quite that way but OH yes you get one chance at today so seize it. Mom and Dad were in Fairbanks, AK May 2005. At midnight when their plane landed the sun was low on the horizon AMAZING!
